The “Meet the Skippers Q&A” offers visitors a unique opportunity to hear directly from the sailors preparing to compete in the Golden Globe Race 2026.
Bringing together a selection of skippers in an informal live discussion, we explore the personal stories, preparations and challenges behind one of the world’s toughest sporting adventures.
From boat preparation and celestial navigation to life alone at sea for months on end, the skippers will share insights into the realities of solo non-stop ocean racing using traditional methods and period-style technology. Each competitor brings a different perspective and background, creating a fascinating discussion for both experienced sailors and newcomers to the sport.
The session also gives the public an opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the competitors before the race start. Whether discussing weather strategy, mental resilience, daily life onboard or the emotional challenge of leaving home behind, the session offers a rare glimpse into the mindset required to take on the Golden Globe Race.
