Experience the unique world of traditional ocean racing during the Golden Globe Race boat tours. Taking place live on Facebook daily from 24 August to 3 September between 14:00 and 16:00.
Unlike modern high-tech race boats, the Golden Globe Race fleet is made up of production yachts based on designs from the original era of solo ocean racing. Built for endurance rather than outright speed, these boats reflect the spirit of the pioneering sailors of the late 1960s, combining traditional seamanship with extraordinary determination.

The tours will offer a rare behind-the-scenes look at how competitors prepare for a solo non-stop circumnavigation using only period-style technology and equipment. From self-steering systems and compact living spaces to carefully organised storage and navigation stations, you will gain a fascinating insight into life aboard these small yachts before they set sail around the world.
